  • This course serves as educational material aimed at first-year students in the state engineering program in electrical engineering, as well as third-year students in the state engineering program in materials engineering. However, it is also suitable for all students in the first or second LMD cycle.

Structured according to the syllabus presented in Appendix A, this course consists of seven main chapters. It serves as a reference document in theory and signal processing, tailored to the needs of postgraduate students looking to deepen their knowledge in this field.

Our focus is primarily on signal processing, a discipline that has become indispensable in modern times. Its main purpose is the development or interpretation of signals carrying information, making it a crucial subject in many application areas.

  • Module aim
The aim of this course is to provide tools for analyzing the properties of a signal and examining what happens to it as it passes through a system.

    Prerequisites
Prior knowledge of mathematical concepts such as integrals, derivatives, and complex numbers is required.

    Indicative Module Content

        •       - Introduction to deterministic signals
        •      - Sampling of analog signals
        •      - Discrete signals
        •      - Random processes
        •      - Signals and systems
        •      - Synthesis of digital filters
        •      - Introduction to spectral analysis and estimation
    • Prerequisite tests play a crucial role in signal processing education by assessing essential knowledge and competencies. They help identify and address early weaknesses, ensuring students have a solid foundation to comprehend advanced topics. Familiarity with mathematical concepts like integrals, derivatives, and complex numbers is vital for mastering signal processing principles and applications.

  • introduction

Signal processing is a multidisciplinary field crucial in the world of engineering and applied sciences. It deals with the manipulation, analysis, and transformation of signals to extract useful information. This course covers a range of fundamental and advanced topics in signal processing, from understanding deterministic signals to spectral analysis and estimation.

In this module, we will explore essential concepts of signal processing, starting with an introduction to deterministic signals and their processing. We will also study the sampling of analog signals, manipulation of discrete signals, as well as random processes and the systems that model them. We will delve into the synthesis of digital filters and spectral analysis and estimation techniques, which are powerful tools for understanding signal behavior in the frequency domain.
