Step Response
The significance of this analysis lies in observing the impact of a finite discontinuity in the input signal. Practically, we achieve this "discontinuity" when the input signal has a very short rise time compared to the characteristic times of the system under study. The step response, denoted by y(t), reflects the system's reaction to a unit step input.
